- Someone brought up the fact that this Friday's afternoon ESPN telecast is
- a big waste since Hartford is a lousy team(5-14-1) and nobody will be
- around to watch it since Friday is either a working day or a big shopping
- in the States(many of you will find yourself in a big shopping mall one
- way or another). I totally agree. So for those of you lucky enough to
- find yourself in front of a cable-TV set at 1pm on Friday,
- you're definetly will be shortchanged by a marketing geniuises at ESPN
- who designed their schedule way back in September when the Battle of New
- England looked like a hot turkey. Even a back-up a game(Islanders-Philly
- ) looked solid at the time, with Lindros as a star attraction. With Lindros
- out and Flyers(8-9-4) and Isles(8-10-2) playing as marginally average teams
- in a rebuilding process, ESPN definetly wll ge stuck with a bone this
- Friday. And next telecast will only be on Friday,December 11th with Phiily
- in Detroit(or Pens at Devils as a back-up). Brace yourself for December 17th
- telecast as the Rangers take on the basement dwellers,The Blues.Oh Joy!
-
- Hopefully, the TV schedule for the second half of the season will reflect
- current standings(i.e. More Montreal,Bruins,Quebec,LA,Vancouver) and
- some double-headers for a change.
