- The Sharks looked really awful tonite. Irbe was great, but as Nelson said,
- he didn't get much help. The Sharks were not hitting or checking very well,
- and they had a few powerplays when they didnt even get a SHOT.
- Two things I noticed:
- - Pat Falloon wasn't checking. He seemed to be very intent on cherry picking
- to pick up an offensive rush, but more than once a leaf went close to him
- carrying the puck and Falloon didn't do more than look at him.
- - Irbe either needs to handle the puck better, or to wander from the crease
- less. Even before the defense had collapsed, he was wandering out trying
- to make plays a defenseman should have handled. It almost cost him a goal
- in the third, but he scrambled back and made a great, sprawling save.
- All in all, a pretty lousy game. If the Sharks play like this against the
- Blackhawks on Saturday, it will be ugly.
