- I have been using Jones bags for 12 years and can attest to
- their durability (3 bags over the last 12 years - and I play
- alot). The first two I had very the traditional collapsing
- kind without a stand. Although they did not have the myriad
- of pockets that the new Taylor Made carry bags have, there
- were enough to hold the usual golfing stuff. The second bag
- I had was made of Cordura (the first was nylon). One minor
- problem with the Cordura is that it is a very rough surface,
- so your clothes sometimes gets roughed up a little bit where
- your bag rides against your body. If you get a Jones bag, I
- would recommend the nylon. The new Jones bag I have is a
- stiff one with a built in stand ($90). The stand is well
- designed and very sturdy. There is fur lining at the top of
- the bag to protect painted graphite shafts (which is what
- just about every Aldila shaft on the market is). The only
- complaint with this bag is that they had to split the main
- clothing pocket into two smaller pockets, so the built-in
- stand could be centered. These pockets are barely big
- enough for me to put a single sweatshirt into. This is OK
- for me now since I play in southern California. But, I can
- imagine this will be a problem when I go home to Calgary and
- play in some inclement weather. I hope the Jones company
- comes out with a model next year with a much bigger clothes
- pocket like the Ping carry bag.
