  12. Hmm, out of the less-than-100 people I ski with at least once a year, two
  13. are of African descent and one is Asian. Both of the African-Americans have
  14. NASTAR handicaps in the teens. The Asian is the best bump skiier I've ever had
  15. the fortune to ski with. In addition, between co-workers and friends I know
  16. three African-Americans and a half dozen or so Asians who claim to be skiiers.

  18. The Pacific Northwest is known as one of the regions in which black Americans
  19. are the most under-represented, so while the ratio of these minorities in my
  20. skiing friends and acquaintances may not quite equal the ratio in the general
  21. population, its not too far off.

  23. After watching the skiing ability of the three ski-buddies I mentioned, I've
  24. come to the inevitable conclusion that they simply don't have the aptitude
  25. to become good skiiers :-) . Now if only I can get so I can finish within
  26. 3 seconds of their times....
