- Of course. The original, as I read it, asserted that the A design,
- specifically, and as to the particular form of articulation, predated
- and influenced the GG1. By the dates, it did not.

- Articulation dates at least to the 1860s. It reappeared, presumably
- driven by rising traffic (heavier trains...) say about 1900.
- That articulation, per se, preceded the GG1, i wouldn't doubt. I will
- try to check the Challengers, but other than that, i would need a
- specific type of steam articulated to check.
