- This actually IS how the MBTA moves commuter rail equipment between
- its South Station and North Station lines. But I can't imagine
- Amtrak would want to run a shuttle train this way--it goes over
- 6 grade crossings in Cambridge, four of them quite busy
- (Massachusetts Ave., Main Street, Broadway, Cambridge Stret).

- On the other hand, I recall that Amtrak DID use to run shuttle
- trains between Penn and Grand Central stations in New York,
- even though it's a short walk (or subway ride) between them.
- Never understood why Amtrak provided that service.
