- Hi folks. just thought I'd update the new Amtrack service to Down East
- (that is Maine).
- They will be 4 round trips every day..
- In the state of MA, the speed limit would be 60 mph at max. In NH and ME,
- the speed limit will be up to 79 mph.. It is expected that the route
- will take less than 2 hours....
- In Haverhill, MA , the AMSHACK would be either at Haverhill or Bradford
- MBTA stations. Officials have not decided on which location yet.
-
- It is expected that this new service would commence in a year.
-
- Now I'm wondering on how Amtrack would get the trains from S. Station to
- N. Station??? After all, they are not connected.... So, is Amtrack going
- to connect them or is this connection part of Boston's third harbor
- tunnel/ Central Artery project?? AKA the "big dig"
