- The talk of chugging reminded me that all the diesel locomotives in
- India are of Alco design. When accelerating, these engines would make a
- loud chak-chak sound.

- Incidentally, this engine was I belive designed by Alco for export. I
- have seen the same design in photos of Spanish railways and various
- railways in South America. These engines look approximately like high-hood
- GPs. You can make out their Alco heritage by the design of their trucks
- (or bogies).
