  14. The talk of chugging reminded me that all the diesel locomotives in
  15. India are of Alco design. When accelerating, these engines would make a
  16. loud chak-chak sound.

  18. Incidentally, this engine was I belive designed by Alco for export. I
  19. have seen the same design in photos of Spanish railways and various
  20. railways in South America. These engines look approximately like high-hood
  21. GPs. You can make out their Alco heritage by the design of their trucks
  22. (or bogies).
