- Trainmaster is a very realistic simulator. However, it doesn't have cab
- views as one would expect. It is best described as a Line Graph, which
- moves along the screen going up and down according to the elevation of
- the railroad, simulating grades. One uses real Road Values of the
- railroad one selects. Thus the PRRNYCHI is the Pennsylvania Main from
- Chicago to New York City. Some of the track I have been over, matches
- the track in the simulator along with the signals. The current upgrade
- which I have designates the various cities and signals one passes. With
- VGA, one can realistically run a train on various lines around the
- country. The Company has quite a few disks of track lines which they
- have to offer. If you wish to see how a train handles, and get an idea
- of the performance of trains, definitely try it. If you expect to look
- out the cab window (circa Flight Simulator), Forget it!!! However, I
- have offered attempts on this to many an engineer from Conrail, and other
- roads, and many of them have been fired for running signals. I have also
- shown people how trains, moving at 35 MPH take so long to stop. Some of
- this is an eye opener to young drivers, who have no idea it takes a
- loaded train that long. You make up your mind, and hope that if you do
- purchase it, you will have fun with it.
