- ( I hope this works, first attempt with a new mailer )

- Really, Fred, selling it after all those nice things you said about
- it? Or was your longish article a bit of pre-advertising ?
-
-
- In all seriousness, I've had to fix a wide variety of transceivers,
- and was most favourably impressed with a 761 I had to revive after
- someone wrong-voltaged it. When I went on the warpath for a new box
- myself, I scrounged and measured TS950's FT1000's etc. I bought a 765
- because I could find nothing better.
-
- The 761 has essentially the same RX, the synth is a bit slower but this
- is no real limitation. Dual receivers are distractions and the
- splitteris an impairment - it may be best to have one good RX. 150w
- output is irrelevant, you either run 100w or go the whole hog and linear
- amps are aimed for 100w input. Apart from being damned expensive, the
- 250Hz filters are rather nice
-
- Cheers
