  15. I have a DX-390. For power supply, it uses either 
  16. 4 D-cell batteries or a 6V AC-DC adapter.
  17. When the AC adapter is in use, it disconnects the batteries.
  18. I suppose the disconnect is to prevent any accidental
  19. charging of non-rechargeable cells if installed. Well,
  20. that's a good idea but that setup is not convenient for me
  21. 'cause of several reasons, one is:

  23.        I'd like to be able to use the existing AC adapter jack
  24.        to recharge the Ni-Cad batteries inplace.
  25.  
  26. I think the mod is simple by putting in a jumper wire to bypass
  27. the disconnect. A catch is I could no longer use the adapter supply
  28. while non-rechargeable cells are installed. But, that's quite alright
  29. by me -- I don't need non-rechargeables.

  31. My quetion is: Has any body tried similar thing. Any advices or cautions?
