- I would like to thank all of the people that responded to my posting and sent
- me Email on my RFI problem. I tried several of the ideas with regards to
- installing a better grade of coax on the radio and placing ferrite cores on
- phone lines. One thing I did notice is that one of the phones in my house
- also had an RFI problem. I placed ferrite cores on the line next to the phone
- and was able to suppress most but not all of the RFI. If I can perfect the filter
- I will try it on my neighbours phone line. He can be a bit of a "red-neck" so
- I don't want to ask permission to play with his phones until I'm completely
- sure a filter will work. The next best solution I have heard is to either raise/or
- move the antenna. Unfortunately we are entering winter in Canada so I don't
- feel like installing a tower to raise the antenna until the spring.
- I can move the antenna to the other side of the house but I fear I will have
- the exact same problem with the neighbour on the other side of me.
- My wife`s solution is to move out of the town where I can have any
- kind of antenna farm I wish.
- I`ll keep working at it and then maybe I can get my toys back on the air.
-
- P.S. To the several people who asked if I am using a linear the answer is
- no. I really am using only 4 watts.
