- I recently sent an M.A. Bravo print that I had matted to be framed.
-
- I used corner mounts when I mounted the print to avoid any residue
- on the back of the image - especially as Bravo signs the backs of
- his prints. I gave very explicit instructions to my framer that he
- should not use any additional adhesives and that I would live with
- any shifting/bowing of the image that resulted.
-
- Well, sure enough, I just opened the frame and found that the shop
- added two cloth adhesive hinge mounts to the print.
-
- Question: How can I completely safely, completely invisibly,
- remove the cloth tape from the print? Is this a conservation job?
-
- The image is on standard, commercially manufactured silver print paper.
