  14. Just thought I'd post a little blurb after seeing Jay Maisel's lecture at 
  15. U.C. Berkeley's Dwinelle Hall on Monday November 16, 1992 on "Light, Color &
  16. Gesture" on behalf of U.C. Berkeley's Journalism School.

  20. Very nice presentation.  He spoke for about 45 minutes and then proceeded to 
  21. show about 100 slides of some of his work.

  23. Although I don't find his work to be particularly inspiring, he was very nice
  24. and pleasant and seemed genuninely interested in his and other people's work. 
  25. He answered questions from the audience after he was done, and overall, I 
  26. really liked it.

  28. A friend of mine told me that he was pretty "arrogant" and stuff, but I didn't
  29. find him particularly so.  He did do his quota of "name dropping:"  
  30.  
  31. "When I was shooting for 'A Day In The Life of Tokyo'..."
  32. "When I was shooting for the 'Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue'..."

  34. but hey...the guy's a heavyweight so he should be able to brag. :)

  36. My totally incomplete information tells me that he is off to Southern California
  37. for his next lecture.  I don't know when or where so don't e-mail me. :(  The 
  38. lecture was sponsored by Kodak's Professional Photography Division and is part
  39. of a lecture series on behalf of a now-dead photographer (whose name now 
  40. escapes me.)

  42. If he comes to your town, check it out!  It's free, too.  Cool free posters of
  43. one of Jay's images from Jerusalem were also available for the taking.  (and
  44. for his John Hancock if you so desired...)
