- Just a quick comment on travel -- my cat will be coming into the
- cabin with me. Supposedly at certain times of the year airlines
- will refuse to put a pet in the hold because it is extremely cold
- in there. You can request the airline to allow your cat in the
- cabin (check for carrier measurements so the carrier will fit
- under the seat properly), but do it at the time you buy the ticket.
- It will cost a little extra (Ozzy is $50 each way, I believe,
- on American Airlines), but you will feel better having the cat
- in sight, and the cat feels better having *you* in sight. Just
- make sure you notify the airline well in advance -- some airlines
- allow no more than one pet per cabin. If you are concerned about
- your cat making a fuss, besides putting comforting things in
- the carrier, you may want to discuss getting mild tranquilizers
- from the vet so that your cat sleeps through the flight and is
- comfortable.
-
- Enjoy your trip.
