  20. Hmmm...I've been seeing an interesting pattern in some of these
  21. responses.  I AGREE absolutely that the abuse of any animal just because
  22. it made a mistake is inexcusable.  But I've repeatedly seen people
  23. saying they'd do the same thing back to the abuser!!!

  25. To use a cliche:  Two wrongs do not make a right.  It's not ok to
  26. hurt a kitten but it is ok to seek revenge by committing a similar
  27. crime against a human?

  29. I think if a similar thing happened to me, I would either move out or
  30. (if my name was on the lease) I'd ask the other person to move out
  31. with a 30 day notice.  In the meantime, kitty would stay elsewhere in
  32. case the roomate tried to retaliate by hurting or killing the animal
  33. further.

  35. But I would not hurt the abuser.  Come now.  Anger is perfectly
  36. acceptable.  But as Gandhi said "An eye for an eye and the whole world
  37. is blind."  Taking revenge for such a crime only lowers oneself to the
  38. level of the scum who committed the crime.
