  28. (incidentally, Latin America comprises a number of countries; you
  29. never say WHICH ONE these "obervances" have taken place in) is
  30. qualified to help make blanket statements about a whole culture's
  31. attitude towards animals.  I have been going to Mexico since my birth
  32. and have seen much more cruelty in THIS country towards animals than
  33. I ever saw there.  You are still basing your comments on SECONDHAND
  34. INFORMATION, which is irresponsible.  Have YOU PERSONALLY ever seen
  35. any of these instances of cruelty?  I have seen little kids in the
  36. U.S. hang up cats by their tails and throw them against walls.  Does
  37. that mean that my conclusion (which is based on FIRSTHAND OBSERVATION)
  38. is that most American children are generally cruel to animals?  What
  39. about declawing and ear clipping?  Some people would call this cruelty.
  40. Animal testing (i.e, cosmetics, car safety testing) could also be
  41. called cruel.

  55. Yes.  Another instance of cruel treatment of animals.  Completely
  56. unforgivable.  But what does this say about the INDIVIDUALS?  This
  57. PERSON and her FAMILY are cruel.  What are you waiting for?  Move
  58. out, or kick her out.  If your situation is bothering you as much
  59. as you say it is, do something about it.

  65. No one accused you of being a racist.  Just irresponsible.  Bull
  66. fighting is certainly not "humane" but it is intimately connected
  67. with ritual and culture.  Again, I suggest learning a bit about
  68. the culture.  Hunting with high powered rifles isn't humane either,
  69. but the animal hunted doesn't really have much of a chance to defend
  70. itself, does it?

  76. choice and observing firsthand how "Latins" treat their animals.  You'd
  77. be pleasantly surprised.
