  10. Well, the cats and I moved to a new home, with a resident cocker spaniel and
  11. small boy.  The kittens think they've gone to heaven now that they've
  12. gotten used to being stepped on, held down and slurped by Hoover, and
  13. run to Hoover's crate whenever they manage to escape from the Keeper of
  14. the Cats.  Bear, DumDum and Little are less sanguine about 35 lbs of
  15. bouncing spaniel, but DumDum is beginning to think  he might be an OK
  16. playmate.

  18. Hoover thinks he's in heaven when he finds an unguarded kitty 
  19. crunchie on the floor... 8-)  Now I _know_ how he got his name--
  20. I may never need to sweep up around the food bowls again!

  22. I hung a big bamboo bowl (ca.  2 ft diam) in a plant hanger, about 3 
  23. feet off the floor, so that the cats could have an escape spot.  The 
  24. older cats aren't about to get into a hiding place that moves, but the
  25. three remaining kittens are entranced with it.    They jump in and out
  26. and set it swinging, or climb the hanger so they can nibble at the 
  27. frayed end of the knot.  It's pretty funny -- looks like a kitten
  28. version of "sailors in the rigging in heavy seas".

  30. Chris (7) was raised with dogs, so he's used to being around animals, 
  31. but this is his first experience with kittens, so he's over in my part
  32. of the house whenever possible.  "Can I borrow a kitten?  Am I ever
  33. going to see Little Cat?"    In fact, I've had to start giving 
  34. Hoover some extra attention-- he's a bit jealous of all the play
  35. Chris is lavishing on the kittens.

  37. Still no "real names" for the three remaining kittens.  At the moment,
  38. they are (sorta kinda) answering to Trouble, RottenCat and Tailbiter.
