- Not necessarily, in fact it may just be the opposite.
-
- I just got my latest kitten, Tooncinator neutered. At first I called the
- vet he had been seeing at _Pets are People Too_ and though they offer low cost
- neutering for only $21 dollars, she said they would keep him overnight.
- Since my kitten hated the vets, I did not want him to stay overnight, so I
- called the Atlanta Humane Society clinic. They said that they will neuter
- the kitten for $20, but insisted that any cat who was given anesthesia
- be kept under observation for 24 hours. I knew these good people
- had the welfare of the cat in mind, but, I have had many cats over
- the years and felt that I would be able to take care of him and get
- to a nearby 24 hour pet clinic if an emergency arose. So, I took Toonce to
- _The Cat Doctor_, who is an upscale vet in an expensive neighborhood.
- They charged $60, but said I could take him home whenever I wanted to.
- He was neutered there and I took him home 3 hours later and he did well,
- but I did feel that that vet was more concerned with keeping the
- owner happy then the welfare of the cat.
