- *Double sniff*. No kidding. I had to have my 15 year old Siamese, Lady,
- who I'd had since she was 8 weeks old, put down on December 14, 1987 (total
- kidney failure). Hardest thing I've ever had to do in my entire life, and I
- still wake up crying about her. I wanted *so badly* for her to die peacfully
- and naturally, of old age, in my arms at home. Even when I knew that I was
- going to have to take her in to the vet, I held her in my arms and prayed
- that she would die then, so that I wouldn't have to give the order to kill
- her. It just isn't fair....why can't they be like parrots or turtles and
- have a human-like lifespan....
