  13. Does anyone know of a Main Coon breeder in San Diego county?  We have
  14. one phone number from the back of the Cat Fancy magazine for a place
  15. in Coronado.

  17. My parents recently lost their magnificent indoor/outdoor mouser cat.
  18. They are now looking for another cat and have been checking the local
  19. Humane Society on a regular basis.  What they are looking for is a
  20. large frame playful outgoing laid back type cat.  Color is not that
  21. important, temperment is definately important.  They are also looking
  22. for an indoor/outdoor type (San Diego is a mild climate) who might be
  23. willing to take care of the mouse population and send a warning to the
  24. rabbits who invade the lawn.  (As my father puts it, a working cat who
  25. enjoys people).  My parents are both home the majority of the day and
  26. really miss having their cat companion.  They have three dogs but say
  27. it is not quite the same and the dogs won't deal with the mice.

  29. Anyway, they have also been reading up on different breeds of cats and
  30. I mentioned the Main Coon to them having read all the wonderful stories
  31. about them on the net.  So now they are interested in seeing if they can
  32. get a Main Coon locally.  They are specifically looking for pet quality,
  33. not show.  They also are not necessarily interested in a kitten.  They
  34. like the idea of adopting an older cat whose temperment is well known.
  35. Their previous cat was adopted this way.  (And my mother says she isn't
  36. quite up to trying to figure out "where did that kitten hide him/herself
  37. today!")

  39. So, if anyone knows of a local kitty who fits those qualities that needs
  40. a wonderful home, please email me.
