- From what I've heard it really doesn't make much difference to the
- "pet-quality" of the bird. I've heard opinions both ways, but in any
- case the difference is small. It mostly comes down to you confidence in
- doing the hand feeding yourself. For myself, I left my Grey with the
- breeder until it was fully weaned. This may sound a little cold, but
- it was just too expensive to take a chance that I might mess it up.

- I've never had a Macaw, so I can't give an opinion on them.
- With any large bird its very important that you start behaviour training
- right from day 1. If you don't maintain control it will cause major
- problems.
