- Two reasons -- the modern ghillie is even further from the period
- ghillie than the product of Medieval Moccassins, and secondly, the
- ones I own have a "ballerina"-type sole. That is, flat, thin leather.
- Not particulary pleasant on rocky ground. And, if I'm not on rocky
- ground, I usually wear the fabric shoes I made for myself.
