  17. It seems like there is a lot of nakedness happening on the UC campus these
  18. days.

  20. The Wednesday, November 18, edition of THE DAILY CALIFORNIAN reports that a nude
  21. performance troupe, the X-Plicit Players, were arrested during a demonstration
  22. on Sproul Plaza to protest the university's policy on public nudity. Apparently
  23. the three-person troupe was barred from performing in the buff in a campus drama
  24. class, hence prompting this group's protest against UCB Chancellor Tien's recent
  25. ban on "indecent exposure, public nudity and lewd or sexually offensive
  26. conduct." Public nudity is not illegal under state or city law unless
  27. accompanied by lewd or sexually motivated behavior. The university will not take
  28. further actions against the demonstrators.
