Is there going to be any pre-show net gathering in Portchester on Friday?
While I go to school about 1/2 hour from the town, I'm not very familiar with
it. I heard 7 Willow St. mentioned once or twice - maybe that's it - but if
any other place is there please let the net know.
Albany and Stony Brook were outstanding and outrageous!
Particular faves (in No Particular Order): Reba, Harry Hood, YEM, and the
DUDE OF LIFE from Albany; MIKE'S H-2 GROOVE (!-> )), BFFCFM (with - well,
I can't really describe what Trey was doing), The Llama Ball Jam, and Foam
(They got that third WHELL to sound like Great American Music Hall from 1990).
The reports you heard from other people about SB were absolutely true. The
security were not only jerks, but were relishing their job in being jerks
(I also had a front section floor seat, which the security student Quadruple-
Checked to the point of staring at the seat from two inches away and conceding:
"Ok, this is YOUR seat). Mind you, I, nor anyone else I saw, had provoked any-
thing. In fact, for any show I've seen (inc. the Dead - this ^ should in-
clude "not" - the Ramones, and even Ozzy/Metallica in 1986), this was by far
the worst treatment I've received from concert staff. This, of course, did not
detract from my relishing the greatness of Phish, but the treatment was like
being a third grader on a school trip to the planetarium (and I couldn't smoke
the two packs of cigarettes I brought with me :*<)) 56 lira.
My particular Autobahn for Albany was the seldom-traveled Taconic Parkway in
Eastern NY. Not only were the views great, but I and my fellow travelers were
inspired (on the return trip) to string the Albany setlists into a sentence,
using joiners like the, in, or of to make sense out of it all. While I don't
have a set list handy, I'll bring the one we made in for the next post. In the meantime, try a list out and see what you get. Example: Runaway Jim Foamed at
the mouth while Paul and Silus, Reba, and Wilson rode the Llama, who spit
Lizards at Sweet Adeline, who had Run Like an Antelope, out of control.
(First set of Great American Music Hall 10-8-90, sentence improvised).
This is turning out to be 1000 lira (still only $.73), so I'll be off and
running now. 93 hours (inc. a God St. Wine show and a Big Dinner in between)
and I'll be in Portchester. Oh JOY!
"The Dude of Life? NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Suzie Suzie Suziesuzie. SUZIE, SUZIE GREENBERG!" See ya Friday!
