  21. The band formed around 1981, but the last member to join, Jerry Augustyniak
  22. joined in 1982. They were first called "Still Life" and perhaps went under
  23. the label "Burn Victims" (yeugghh! :-) ) for a while. They inflated the
  24. name of a cult B-grade horror movie called "2,000 Maniacs" to get their
  25. present name, under which all their music has been released. Letterman 
  26. must have made about 5 cracks about their name when they were on his 
  27. show last week!  However much one likes their music, naming their band 
  28. was never their forte. :-)
