- The band formed around 1981, but the last member to join, Jerry Augustyniak
- joined in 1982. They were first called "Still Life" and perhaps went under
- the label "Burn Victims" (yeugghh! :-) ) for a while. They inflated the
- name of a cult B-grade horror movie called "2,000 Maniacs" to get their
- present name, under which all their music has been released. Letterman
- must have made about 5 cracks about their name when they were on his
- show last week! However much one likes their music, naming their band
- was never their forte. :-)
