- The song is called "Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)," by Melanie
- (her last name, which she didn't use professionally, is Safka). It was a
- hit for her in 1969 or 1970, on Buddah Records, one of their few
- non-bubble-gum artists to chart Top 40 hits.
