- I recently tried cosmos' Reels 2.2 program, and although I thought it
- had great features and was extremely well done, it lacked several
- features that I would like to see. Consequently, I have just finished
- writing my first application!
-
- This is a Windows application that runs under a database program called
- "Approach" which is neccessary for it to run. I am investigating
- licensing a runtime version of Approach, but if that proves impossible,
- you would need Approach to run my program. It sells on the street for
- about $249, but currently has a competitive upgrade of $149. Any
- database will suffice to qualify for this upgrade.
-
- What my program will do is foremost, allow you to enter the data for
- any set ONCE, including where the tape flip occurs, and print
- beautifully formatted Cassette Labels AND RDAT Labels! Additonally, you
- can print a complete tapelist, including all data and song list per set,
- also formatted, or an ascii only list for bbs upload. The database
- holds information on any and all Artists, not just GD, and allows you
- to search and group in many different ways.
-
- Any data can be searched on and kept as a group of records for printing
- of labels or lists. These searches include: Artist, Date, Venue,
- Quality of Tape, Cassettes Only, RDATS Only, All Tapes, City, State or
- tapes including any song which can be searched by only enetering the
- first few letters of the song. Additionally, you are provided with a
- screen including a repeating panel that will scroll through all of your
- tapes allowing you to instantly go to any show that you select from the
- list. All of these functions including searches, printing, sorting, etc
- are provided on Windows Type Buttons.
-
- Sound interesting to anyone? If so I would be happy to provide it as
- Shareware with a charge of $29.95! All I would need towrite would be
- instructions for use for the product to be ready to market.
-
- Perhaps the Deadbase folks would like to consider a version that would
- include all shows and to be sold as a binary version of Deadbase?
-
- Also, I could use a name for the program, should you have any
- suggestions. And if anyone out there has Approach already and would
- like to beta test a copy for me, please let me know.
-
- I will be very interested to see the level of interest in this.
-
- email rebop@well.sf.ca.us only, please as I infrequently check in here.
