  13. "Hear" just opened a retail store here in Berkeley.

  15. Capsule summary: interesting, but NOT a comprehensive
  16. store, and with a slightly fakey concept.

  18. The ides is, they have set up many many headphones, each
  19. connected to a multi-platter CD units, which are loaded with the
  20. recordings they wish to promote.  You can listen to
  21. any of these, but only from track one on -- can't skip
  22. ahead -- this is a major drawback for browsers.

  24. I did not see anything to indicate this is a record
  25. store to frequent... not with Amoeba and Down Home each
  26. within a few miles...and Down Home will let you listen to any
  27. CD.
