- I agree with you that the ideal is live musicians all the way, but recorder
- players far outnumber string players, and most recorder groups muddle along
- with no continuo experience at all.

- I submit that a canned continuo is better than none, but I fully agree with
- you that live is best.

- Also, we were not necessarily limiting this thought to mechanical
- accompaniment, a sythesized harpsichord was the original proposal, if I
- recall aright, sorry if my "canned" misnomer mislead anyone.
