- I know there was some noise about the fact the Parsifal is NOT the
- glorious Knappertsbusch, but a vastly inferior one... I don't remember,
- but I think it was the Boulez also.

- Generally, I recommend that you resist the temptation to buy on the basis
- of fancy packaging and obtain the individual operas separately. There are
- some terrific performances available at mid-price. I can understand
- your attraction to the Bayreuth set, however -- the CD companies are getting
- quite fancy with their re-issues of material. You almost want to buy
- the stuff because of how great it will look on your shelf. :-)
