- Well, to begin with I have played in my church for 5 years, and absolutely
- love playing drums/percussion. Percussion can be a great asset to any church
- orchestra, but it has to be done with great sensitivity and care. Drummers
- MUST be incredibly in tune with the worship leader and the Holy Spirit when
- playing, nothing destroys a spirit of wordhip more then insensitive bashing
- in the percussion section. At the same time, you can create beautiful colors
- textures that greatly add to the service. I love to drum and I think that
- drums can be used very effectively in worship, but the most important issues
- have to do with the drummers having a servant's heart, and a intimate, personal
- relationship with Jesus Christ. I will not allow myself, or anyone in the
- section, to play if I/they have not spent quality time with Jesus before
- the service. It is better to not have drums at all then to have a section
- who is not spiritually prepared to play. The musicians in the temple were
- priests first, musicians sencond.

- Well, that's enough rambling.

- God bless you all
