-
- GB500 is a great bike. 500cc single (thumper). I bought one last
- year. Made only in 89 and 90 (I'm told, and if the manual I got is the most
- current then this is true). They didn't sell well because Honda tried
- pricing the things at nearly $4K. I got mine off the showroom floor for
- 2700 bucks.
-
- It was copied after the English Velocette. Now I'd sure like
- to see some pix of the Velocette. Musta beena hummer! Seems that
- anywhere I go with this bike I get looks of approval from a variety
- of archetypes.
-
- Further rumor has it that there is a lust for this bike
- in Europe and that people are paying far above the list price for
- them. This sounds pretty odd considering all the neat bikes in
- Europe, but fact can be stranger than fiction.
-
- I took my little thumper on a 3K trip through the SW
- United States last summer and it was great if a little rough
- on my neck and shoulders (a week of physical therapy and I'm
- ok again).
-
- GB500 is lousy for after market stuff. There is a little
- so if there is a group of GB500 (also called the Touris Trophy)
- riders out there, then post a story or two.
-
- Happy riding!
