- |Well Ed. I have serious doubts that a neon yellow, orange, green, pink, etc.
- |west will do you much good when you are hitting the concrete or aiming for the
- |gravel after breaking on a spot of oil or sand. However, a god helmet might do
- |the trick.
-
- A "god" helmet *might*, yet you have no guarantee that a mortal helmet will
- help, either. I totally agree, though, if you are going to hit the concrete,
- wearing a helmet is most likely a GREAT idea, since it is doubtful it will
- hurt you, as long as you are *definitely* going to hit the ground.
-
- Nice attempt at derailing Ed's point, yet his point is very valid. Since
- most motorcycle accidents resulting in injury also involve cars, and most of
- them involve an error on the part of the car driver *seeing* the motorcyclist,
- Ed's point might be a better idea than the helmet.
-
- |Makes sense, huh, Ed?
-
- So does *avoiding* that spot of oil or sand in the first place. In the
- end, its up to the rider to avoid circumstances that are going to put him
- on the ground, I think you might agree. The helmet is for when that fails.
- A helmet also has an added benefit that one with a face-shield will protect
- one's face from road debris. As long as the helmet doesn't hurt a rider's
- ability to avoid danger, then there is no safety-related reason to not wear
- one (there will always be those reasons of comfort, style, etc... that
- really don't belong in this discussion).
