- My thoughts exactly. Good thing Avis Anchorage never looked too carefully
- at the cars I returned to them. :-)

- I need to understand the more current BMWs better. My last experience with
- BMW was with a R69S. The P-D is a beefed up R100GS, yes? And the GS is a
- beefed-up ??.

- Yeah, this is the dilemma. I'd like something that can make the crossing
- of Canada and/or the US in relative comfort, but will stand up to the
- rigors of roads (or off-roads/pseudo-roads) in Alaska and the Territories,
- and be able to carry enough gas (water and freeze-dried food) so that I don't
- have to hoof it through the Great White North (thereby depriving myself of
- style points :-). Maybe I'll HAVE to cobble something up from a
- dual-purpose bike -- OHMYGOD A WINTER PROJECT!!! =8^O

- Since we're on the subject of obscure dealers, maybe I should look into
- one of those DNEPR motorcycles for the trip, eh?
- With sidehack, of course. :-)
