  25. I've plotted an outlandish Canadian/Alaskan tour (a solid 6 months by my
  26. calculations), the main stumbling block of which would be securing passage
  27. for bike and self from the Great Slave Lake up the Mackenzie towards the
  28. Beaufort Sea.  The idea would be to ride into the Northwest Territories to
  29. the Great Slave Lake, load the bike and myself on a freighter at Yellowknife,
  30. perhaps Ft. Providence, then proceed by water the 1000 miles or so up the
  31. Mackenzie River above the Artic Circle, disembarking at either Inuvik or
  32. Artic Red River.  I would then once again proceed by moto, heading south
  33. towards Dawson.

  35. Question:  Does anybody in the Great White North (or the States, for that
  36. matter) know what kind of river commerce exists on the Mackenzie, if any?

  38. Okay, so the REAL main stumbling block to this trip is that I'm not
  39. independently wealthy.  We all gotta dream, don't we?  ;^)

  42. to see a lot of Exxon stations between Inuvik and Dawson...
