  27.   Yeah, I was a little surprised.  However, a subsequent poster mentioned
  28. something that I left out of my post that might explain his dissatisfaction
  29. with the ZX-11 brakes.  The aspect of maintenance.

  31.   I completely purge my brake (and clutch) hydraulic lines at least once a
  32. year, and replace with new Castrol DOT 4 LMA brake fluid.  If you fail to do
  33. this, then I'm sure you will be dissatisfied with your braking power due to
  34. the water and air in the brake lines.  (I ride year around also - if you
  35. store your bike at all, you will need to do this more often, perhaps).

  37.   The only time I have been dissatisfied with the brakes on my 1990 ZX-11
  38. was when I needed to bleed/purge the brake lines, and the one time I made
  39. the mistake of putting EBC Gold pads on it.  Perhaps the brakes could be
  40. better (I rode a lady friend's GSXR1100 yesterday that had awfully touchy
  41. brakes - perhaps they were better than mine, although they bugged the hell
  42. out of me since I wasn't used to them), yet I do a bit of pretty aggresive
  43. canyon riding periodically, and have been happy with them.

  49.   Yeah, I can lock the front wheel if I try to.  The only improvement I might
  50. try to do is to add steel braided lines to improve the already-excellent brake
  51. "feel".
