- For a long distance trip, I can recommend a K100RS. The only problem that I
- can see with it is the lack of range. The same goes for the Triumph Trophy and
- the Yamaha FJ1200 which are both big mile eaters. The drawback with these two
- is that they are chain driven which implies more maintenance. Perhaps a K75
- would be better, I think they have a greater range if that's a problem. I
- usually start searching for a petrol station after about 100 - 120 miles on
- Kay, my K100RS. What is the largest distance between petrol stations on
- your trip? I think that that is an important bit of research, also, try and
- find out their opening times. Another consideration is dealers. If you are
- going to be away from what we laughingly call "civilisation" for a while,
- what marque offers the most accessible dealers.
-
- I wish you every success and enough happenings to make that trip's memories
- last your life. Please write it up on your return, you lucky bastard.
