  16. My driving instructor (cage) lost his left leg a few years prior to my
  17. meeting him. He was hit from the side by a cage while riding his MC. Didn't
  18. deter him from going on to be a driving instructor, replacing his bike
  19. with a sidecar job (due to his losing his leg, he wasn't allowed to ride
  20. a solo bike) and carrying on to be a driving instructor for lorry-
  21. drivers! Of course, the agency who had rebuilt his cage for him (microswitch
  22. in gear lever to activate clutch + other extras for the legless) were
  23. a bit concerned about rebuilding a lorry for him to be able to use, but
  24. they managed.

  26. Strikes me as a bit of the old Douglas Bader stuff. So what?.

  28. If you're afraid of heights, you stay near the ground. If you're afraid
  29. of anything, you avoid it - or minimize the risk factor. End of problem.

  31. Of course, if you start ignoring the risks/danger/whatever, you're bound
  32. to either wake up one morning with your mind in a *bad* state, or "just"
  33. make a small mistake with large consequenses.

  35. Since any form of transport other than Mother Natures original intent is
  36. bound to be more risky, why not stick with crawling/walking? If we could
  37. just get *everybody* to do this, then no-one would get hurt in traffic!
  38. Yeah that's it, lets ban all forms of transportation except our own two
  39. feet! Think of it: no insurance fees, no helmet laws, no pollution, no
  40. senseless cagers, no squids, no .......... damn, no *fun*, no convenience,
  41. no thrills.....on second thought let's just "be careful out there", OK?
