- A BMW boxer is a good choice. Reasonably fun on dirt roads and twisties
- while still capable on long boring straight stretches. However, were I
- looking to buy a used (or new) bike, I'd take a hard look at Moto Guzzi.

- I second both choices. Both good reliable bikes. My Guzzi has
- a 300+ mile range per tank of gas, and is comfortable for me for
- hours on paved roads, and not impossible to handle off of them.
- There is enough power to haul some luggage at freeway speeds, and
- unless one or both of you are very tall, plenty of room for a
- passenger (I'm over 6'3" and it takes a big passenger to bang
- my knees into the heads).
-
- Have a good trip.
