  13.    A BMW boxer is a good choice. Reasonably fun on dirt roads and twisties
  14. while still capable on long boring straight stretches. However, were I
  15. looking to buy a used (or new) bike, I'd take a hard look at Moto Guzzi.

  20.     I second both choices.  Both good reliable bikes.  My Guzzi has
  21. a 300+ mile range per tank of gas, and is comfortable for me for
  22. hours on paved roads, and not impossible to handle off of them.
  23. There is enough power to haul some luggage at freeway speeds, and
  24. unless one or both of you are very tall, plenty of room for a
  25. passenger (I'm over 6'3" and it takes a big passenger to bang
  26. my knees into the heads).
