- Well, I ride, have ridden for several years, had many a close call
- (usually from auto drivers who were paying more attention to the radio
- than the road), and have known a few riders who have been seriously
- injured, maimed (like lost a foot, or lost use of an arm) or even killed.
- But, I also have a brother who was hit by a drunk (my bro was in a car)
- and is seriously brain damaged), a dear friend who was killed by a drunk
- on her last birthday, and one of my best friends is a parapalegic from a
- car accident (not to mention several family friends who were killed in
- auto accidents). And you know, I'm not going to stop driving, either! ;-)
-
- I tend to think that any argument against riding is pretty lame-
- they can always be applied to driving a car, taking a plane, riding a
- horse, hunting, sex (especially nowadays!!), even shaving (I used to work
- in an E.R.- I saw a guy who lost too much blood from shaving and suffer brain
- damage!) The kid who rides a crotch rocket like a maniac would drive a
- car like a maniac- no difference.
-
- Keep riding, if you love it (and that goes for anything else).
