  24. Think twice about this one. I made the mistake of buying a BSA 441 back in
  25. 1984. Last year I finally got rid of it, and a few months back I bought a
  26. Yamaha SR500, which I should have done in the first place. 
  27.    I love English bikes, and have owned a few. Still have a Norton and a 
  28. Triumph, but the Victor, although fun when running, was a royal pain in 
  29. the ass. Starting was difficult to impossible. Parts cracked fairly regularly.
  30. The light weight and low end torque are a blast. They're starting to command
  31. ridiculous prices (to me, anything over $500!) from nostalgic folks who don't
  32. recall what they were really like. A nice one will bring $1200-1500. 
  33.    The SR500 has all the good points of the Victor, and so far, none of the
  34. drawbacks. If BSA had made them half as good, they'd still be in business.
