- A friend of mine had this happen. He got his front end clipped from the
- side at 60 mph on the expressway and went down. He folded his arms
- across his chest, tucked his chin, pointed his toes, and rolled down
- the expressway like a tube for 150 yards. But he thought he was stopped
- at one point, and when he began to open up his arms the change in
- motion got to his brain and he "suddenly" saw ground-sky-ground-sky...
- and yanked his arms back in tight again until he really stopped.

- I didn't realize it was a common phenomenon. FYI, bike was totalled,
- he injured an already-in-bad-shape knee and got a bit of road rash
- where his jacket pushed up above his glove and some in various
- places where his jeans wore through. Otherwise he was fine, thanks
- to the total sacrifice of his leather jacket and his helmet.
- He did wish, however, that he had been wearing leather pants.
