- I am inclined to think that all this talk of the final drive
- housing getting really hot is a crock of shit. Yesterday I rode
- 200 miles, stopped once for gas, and at the end of the ride the
- housing was barely warm. (1976 R100S) My approximate
- cruising speed was 80-90 mph. I would venture that if your housing
- is getting really hot there may be something wrong - enough oil?
- Right grade? Mind you, it wasn't a really hot day - about 24C is all.

- >Anybody know where the transmission breather is?
-
- I just found out this morning. The transmission breather is through
- the earth strap bolt. This bolt is supposed to have a hole bored
- down the middle of it, but had been replaced with a solid bolt on my
- bike. It only got found last week when I got the shop to replace the
- transmission boot. This is apparently "non-critical" - it will speed
- up.
