- Well, I don't rationalize, I simply make the choice to wear shorties
- (which only leave the fingertips exposed) and chaps as opposed to
- full leather armor. I know there is a risk, but I simply refuse to
- give up the ease and comfort of the gloves (I can't do *anything*
- with full gloves on; not even take *off* my helmet). And I refuse to
- give up the easy on/off and the poser aspect of my chaps.
-
- But I *might* be willing to go with full gloves if someone could
- recommend the following:
-
- 1) Full gloves for winter that are 0-p (zero porosity) but only just
- thick enough to save my skin, and supple enough to allow me to do
- simple things like put on/remove helmet, get loose cash out of my back
- pocket without unknowningly dropping half of it, etc. I don't give a
- rat's ass about warmth as long as the wind is *completely* shut out;
- that is what silk glove liners are for on the rare occasions when they
- are needed.
-
- 2) Full gloves for summer that are just like (1) only decidedly porous;
- they must breathe a *lot*. Perhaps some strong soft mesh on the
- unexposed sides of the fingers.
-
- Anxiously awaiting any suggestions from all the safety mavens who have
- been castigating us fingerless and shortie wearers,
