- I have no direct experience with suits, but I would look carefuly with regard
- to where they use KEVLAR. A recent article in Mororcyclist on gloves included
- a report on a call to DuPont to ask about KEVLAR. DuPont said that
- KEVLAR is NOT particulaly strong in abrasion resistance. So its great
- for impact, or tensile strength (like bullet proof vests, or thread in
- anything) but its not going to stand up to well if you grind it into the
- highway. Now it might not be any WORSE than other substitutes, but
- (according to the article) it is not as abbrasion resistant as good old
- leather. So beware of uses primarily by the marketing dept.
