- In his post of 17 Nov 92, Rafael Rodriguez asks:
-
- RR> I am looking for info about the cockpit layout for the backseater
- RR> station in the nightfighter version of the P-38. I have heaps
- RR> of info regarding the front office. But nothing regarding the
- RR> back seater.
-
- RR> Does anybody know of any good source for this info?.
-
- RR> (And also layout of the bomber/aimer station on the pathfinder
- RR> version of the P-38).
-
- The nightfigher was the P-38M. I don't have much, but there is 1 photo
- in the Squadron/Signal book P-38 Lightning in Action. The photo shows the
- radar operators station and the left side of the cockpit. It doesn't show
- the right side unfortunately, but the radar scope and equipment mounted in
- front of the radar operator is shown to good effect.
-
- There is also some info on the pathfinder version. It used the AN/APS-15
- Bombing Through Overcast (BTO) radar unit. The equipment inside was the
- same as that found in the P-38 Droop Snoot bomber version, except that it
- used had the BTO radar and the control panels for it instead of the Norton
- bombsight.
-
- Good luck in your search.

- Happy modelling
