- This is rather interesting. I have two Athearn DD40's from the mid 80's
- when they were last produced. Both of mine have two motors, and NO
- connection between the two motors. I have never had any problem with
- them running out of synch or anything. I would think that a big
- universal connecting the two motors passing through the gap between the
- engines would look rather toylike and silly. I am surprised that the
- model was ever produced this way.
