- From observations of experts, I reckon theres much hot air talked about
- street work. Sure, m.a. techniques work bvery effectively against untrained
- yobs. But then you spend hours a week trianing, and just about ANYTHING
- will work with this imbalance. People who require streetfighting as a
- professional tool do not fall into this category, they train very hard,
- and their techniques are tested by natural selection! They are ugly,
- minimalist and completely effective.
-
- My view, and that of m.a. people I have discussed this with (some of
- whom are GOOD), is that dan level and above has protective value on
- the street, but below this, m.a. training can be a liability due to
- an undeserved sense of invulnerability even against untrained but
- practised thugs.
-
- The consensus was universally
- that if you come across a professional, you simply grovel and run
- away very very fast and preferably simultaneously. I have found this
- works very well for me in ALL situations.
