- My teacher won the Taiwan competitions twice in the late 1970's. Some
- of his senior students were preparing to participate in this year's
- competition but the plan fell through. I do not know the details of
- why.
-
- My teacher says it is open style but xing yi practitioners tend to win.
- The rules (which are few) do not seem to favor xing yi but they are the
- ones who tend to win. My teacher practices xing yi primarily, but also
- studies bagua and Chen taiji.
